Installation: Configuration utility reports that IIS is not installed

By default, the IIS web server is not installed on Windows Server. If IIS is not installed on your server, the JobTraQ Configuration Utility will display an error stating that IIS is not installed. To fix this issue, follow the steps for your operating system below.

Windows 2008

Open the Server Manager control panel on the server, and go to the Roles section. Click Add Roles, and choose the Web Server (IIS) role. When the wizard asks which services to install, select the following:

  • Common HTTP Features
  • Application Development
    • ASP.NET
    • .NET Extensibility
    • ISAPI Extensions
    • ISAPI Filters
  • Health and Diagnostics
    • HTTP Logging
    • Logging Tools
    • Request Monitor
    • Tracing
  • Security
    • Request Filtering
  • Management Tools
    • IIS Management Console
    • IIS 6 Management Compatibility

After the new role is installed, re-run the JobTraQ Configuration Utility.

Windows 2003

Go to the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel, and click on Add/Remove Windows Components. Next, make sure that the Application Server item is checked. After that, select Application Server and click the Details button. In the window that appears, ensure that Internet Information Services and ASP.NET are checked. Finally, go into the Details screen for Internet Information Services, and ensure that the World Wide Web Service is checked. Click OK in all the windows you opened, and when the program is done updating your setup, re-run the JobTraQ Configuration Utility.
